Pre Cruise Hotel Tampa ? Any Suggestions !

Hi all!

We will be sailing on the Grandeur 1/23/10. This is our first time sailing out of Tampa and aren't sure what our best option would be ? We will have a rental car so we will need to park it either at the precruise hotel or at port parking ? We will arrive in Tampa 2 days earlier on the 21 first. Any suggestions ??

There are several hotels in the area. We have stayed at the Marriott which is about 2 blocks away. They have had a shuttle to the port in the past. Check all of this out first because things can change. We have picked up and returned an Avis rental car there. They have a Hertz car rental desk in the hotel. Parking for the port is across the street and is about $12-$15 per day. We sometimes rent a car for the day for the drive from Bradenton where we live and drop it at the port, then rent a new one when we return which is often cheaper than paying the daily parking fee.
