The Islander Posted January 25, 2005 #2 Share Posted January 25, 2005 Hello, Snorkeling with ammentities on St. John... your only options are Trunk Bay, Cinnamon Bay and Caneel Bay. There are other great beaches but not with ammenities. --Islander *****
bksunbuddies Posted January 30, 2005 #3 Share Posted January 30, 2005 Has anyone been to this on St. John? On our last cruise we met some snorkelers who had lived in St. Thomas for 4 years. They said this was great but I have no idea where it is in St. John.
The Islander Posted January 30, 2005 #4 Share Posted January 30, 2005 Hello bksunbuddies, Waterlemon Cay (lemon not melon :-) is accessed by Leinster trail. The trail begins just below Annaberg Plantation. Waterlemon Cay is just to the right of Annaberg if you were standing with Annaberg behind you. The trail itself is about 0.8 mile, takes about 30 minutes to hike along as its relatively flat. Once on the beach you want to walk down the beach and then follow another little trail until you find a rocky area where you can get in the water to swim to the cay. You can start from the beach as well, but its a much longer swim. The current is pretty strong on the backside of the cay. Good snorkeling to be had there. Bring some water/snacks with you as the beach has no amenities. --Islander http://www.*****
lookin4calm Posted January 30, 2005 #5 Share Posted January 30, 2005 Islander -- mmmm. Waterlemon is one of our all time favorites. Remember when you could drive about 1/2 way from Anaberg? We always go to Waterlemon when we go to St. John. I also like the tranquility of Francis Bay. Also no amenities, but there is something about the particular sound of the small waves on this beach -- must be the perfect mixture of sand and small pebbles about 3/4 of the way down.
