St.John - best snorkeling and beach

Hello bksunbuddies,

Waterlemon Cay (lemon not melon :-) is accessed by Leinster trail. The trail begins just below Annaberg Plantation. Waterlemon Cay is just to the right of Annaberg if you were standing with Annaberg behind you. The trail itself is about 0.8 mile, takes about 30 minutes to hike along as its relatively flat. Once on the beach you want to walk down the beach and then follow another little trail until you find a rocky area where you can get in the water to swim to the cay. You can start from the beach as well, but its a much longer swim. The current is pretty strong on the backside of the cay. Good snorkeling to be had there. Bring some water/snacks with you as the beach has no amenities.

Islander -- mmmm. Waterlemon is one of our all time favorites. Remember when you could drive about 1/2 way from Anaberg? We always go to Waterlemon when we go to St. John.

I also like the tranquility of Francis Bay. Also no amenities, but there is something about the particular sound of the small waves on this beach -- must be the perfect mixture of sand and small pebbles about 3/4 of the way down.
