What to do in St Martin on Sunday

We will be in St Marin in February on a Sunday. We wanted to do some jewelry shopping and see the difference’s between the Dutch and French side. We were told that this is the best place to shop for jewelry after ST Thomas which we are not stopping at this cruise. When looking at the posts it appears the shops are open pretty limited hours on Sunday, is this true even with a ship in town? Would anyone recommend something you have to do while in St Martin for the day? We love snorkeling and hanging out at a beach but doing that at several other ports so not sure we want to do it here.

Thanks in advance for all your help.

We stopped in St. Martin last November, on a Sunday.

Most of Marigot was shut down, except for a small snack stand. Sunset Beach Bar was open. Phillipsburg stores started to shut down at 3 PM and by 4 PM were all closed. Orient Beach was open as well as the beach bars but this is a resort area and resorts are usually open weekends.
