eandj Posted November 3, 2009 #2 Share Posted November 3, 2009 Miami downtown is the closest to the port. Within 5-10 min cab ride. Those hotel guests usually are within walking distance to Bayside Mall or a very short cab ride. Go with 4 star.

eandj Posted November 4, 2009 #5 Share Posted November 4, 2009 The rate of $55 mentioned in the previous post is meaningless unless it is for the actual date you need the room. Rates bounce all over the place. It doesn't matter what deal someone else got without providing the date. Go to the Hyatt's website and check out the going rate for rooms on the night you need the room. If it is not a peak season night, start your bidding at 40% off that going rate. Slowly move up as needed. If it is peak season or around a convention or sporting event, start at 30% off. This won't assure you get the Hyatt of course. But stick to 4 stars and you'll be okay in downtown.
