LAX - buying alcohol at the airport for cruise

We will be sailing out of San Pedro in Dec on Princess. We fly into LAX the morning we leave on the cruise. Can you buy wine and liquor inside LAX anywhere that we can then carryon the ship?

It's doubtful but you can look. . . . You're probably better off having the taxi stop somewhere on the way to the port.

The only place at the airport you could buy booze would be at a Duty Free shop in the International terminal. You however couldn't, because you're not leaving the country.

 

Stop along the way to the port.

We just got off of the Saphire and we bought our soda and alcohol at a Rite Aid near the port.

The Rite Aid is on Gaffey St; a mile or more from the port.

If aoverby stops along the way to buy alcohol beverages he should place them in his main luggage and not in his carry-on. Carry-ons are subject to search and alcohol retained by Princess until disembarkation.

I thought that even if you put hard liquor in your checked bags, that they still x-rayed them and still took it out and gave it back to you at the end of the cruise. I did read on one post where someone packed their liquor and flasks in a box and then wrapped it and put Happy Anniversary on the card and took it on the ship with no problem. But there's still a risk.

Carry on as much soda and water as you wish. Out in the open. No suitcase.

Soda, wine and water can be brought on the ship with no problems. We have used a plastic crate to make it easy on us, slap on a luggage tag and give to porter with a tip.

you should have no problem if you pack liquor in your checked bags. The worst that could happen is they hold it until you get off at the end. I wouldn't sweat it. I have taken liquor on every cruise and never had a problem.
