party cruise on aurora

were going on aurora next may on the party cruise.we have been on cruises before but never a short break party cruise.this time we are taking some older family members with us they have never cruised before,what i would like to know is

 

when leaving southampton do they make it special ie streamers and are there cocktails to buy

 

what will be open when we first board ie places to eat

 

and will the pool with the roof be open during a two night cruise

 

and any thing else i need to know would be nice

 

almost forgot were do we park at southampton and how much is it

The streamers have been banned a year or two ago for environmental reasons. Champagne is available for purchase on sailaway, sometimes at special prices

The self service restaurant is open for lunch from noon and afternoon tea from 3pm. Bars will be open.

The swimming pool will be open but whether the roof is opened depends on the weather

we have just done one of these on arcadia. as you have cruised before,

the short one has all the same eliments of longer trips, including one formal! more younger folk will be on board. very enjoyable, but over too soon! regards, mike:)

I presume your party cruise goes to Zeebrugge to visit Bruges. Rather than book an organised excursion, it is much cheaper to get the free P&O shuttle bus to Blankenberg, which drops off at the railway station, then get a return ticket on the train to Bruges. Costs around 5 euros and only takes ten minutes. Trains leave Blankenberg at ten minutes past the hour, and return from Bruges at 38 minutes past the hour - they are very punctual. About a fifteen minute walk into the centre of Bruges from the station, or take a bus marked "Centrum". Remember to take with you your map of Bruges on the Port Guide. Fun things to do are a horse and carriage ride from the main square, not too expensive if shared between four or five of you, or a half-hour canal trip, costs about 6.50 euros.

 

You will have fun, good for new cruisers to get a taste of cruising, and for a quick top-up for old cruising hands - though leaves you wanting more!

Yes, the sailaway for a weekender cruise is just the same as a longer cruise. Sailaway champagne on sale at £3 a glass, and a band playing on the dockside.

Formal night is just like a longer cruise formal as well - invite to cabin for welcome party beforehand with free drinks, (usually), and a gala menu at dinner, with nearly everyone dressing in their formal wear.

Agree pool roof only open if weather is good, (as per any cruise again), and embarkation lunch in ss restaurant as per usual.
