Canadian having trouble with funpass check-in

Need help from any fellow Canadians that may have done this before. We are sailing on the Carnival Pride out of Baltimore on March break next spring. We plan on driving down the day before, staying in a hotel before the cruise, and then driving back to Canada the day we get back into port afterwards.

The funpass registration has a section that asks if we are flying out directly after the cruise, if you select 'no' you have to fill in an american address where you are staying. No where does it let you select 'driving out of the states' as an option.

any ideas?

I always use the hotel address. Never had a problem with using it in the past.

This is for AFTER the cruise. We have no hotel address. We are driving back to Ontario that afternoon.

If you really want to mess with them ;) Just put in Ontario, CA. It is only an hour away from Long Beach. It's the Ontario airport WITH the palm trees.:D

ONT Traveler's Aide usually has to tell several pax a year that they landed in Ontario, California not Ontario, Canada-- would have thought the low price was a give away?

Seriously, you are stopping somewhere like Vegas. Make reservations for the first night and use the hotel's address. Or call Carnival and let them put it into the system for you.

The computer is just set up to ask for the info that people usually have. I'd just put in either the hotel you are using for pre cruise or just tell it you are catching a flight.

I don't think it matters but you just have to fill in something to make it happy. IF you tell it you have an early flight then you may be able to get off the ship in an early group.

If you are driving back home right after the cruise I would just use your home address.:D

I tried to do that but it will only take american addresses. BRUTAL. I don't want to get caught in a lie. Not a good idea for a visiting citizen. Looks like I'm calling carnival.....again.

I love sailing with them, I HATE their website.

Good Luck...let me know what they say. Yes I agree with you 100%, it is not worth it to make a false statement when visiting another county:eek:. Especially since USA Homeland Security will most likely have access to Carnival's Guest Registrations!

I ran into this exact same issue last week when trying to fill in our Funpass for the Triumph in December. We are driving down to New Orleans a couple of days before, and are planning on driving back to Ontario right after the cruise, although we will probably stay one night in a hotel on the way back, somewhere half-way to home, along the Interstate. I also ran into a lot of frustration filling in our travel particulars and like you, was very worried about saying that I was flying when we are (most likely) not (unless we can get a very cheap flight).

I ended up e-mailing our PVP at Carnival and asked him what to do. I ended up filling in our documents as if we were flying back home out of New Orleans, as that seemed to be the only way around the whole issue. I asked him if we would have trouble at the border if we arrived a day later than I indicated on the cruise documents (as I didn't know if that information would make its way to Homeland Security and get registered somehow), but he said that I would not have any issues and just to leave my documents the way I had them...

Hope this helps!

In the past, we have used the address of the point of entry into the USA.

We have driven to New York City a few times and cruised from the port there. I used the address of the Peace Bridge between Fort Erie, Ontario and Buffalo, New York. there was no problems filling out any pre-cruise registration. Give this a try, using the customs location, that you are travelling through, I'm sure it will work for you.
