CapeFearCruiser Posted November 16, 2009 #1 Share Posted November 16, 2009 Hello, My husband and I are booked with Rony's Freestyle Tour in 2 weeks. We are pretty non-traditional. We will be doing West Bay snorkeling and having him drive us around the island checking out local spots. We are avid hikers and would love to stop for a while and hike on some trails. Has anyone here done any hiking in Roatan? I read that Summit Picacho is excellent but I do not think we will have time to go hiking for 2 hrs (I also had back surgery so it takes me longer). Other than that we are in our early 30's and are looking for adventure. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks, Tara
Rare crewsweeper Posted November 17, 2009 #2 Share Posted November 17, 2009 Ask Rony, he'll probably know the best spots. Most likely the closest will be in the Carambola Gardens or Gumbalimba Park. but he may know of trail heads in other areas. If time or distance doesn't allow just walk the beach and path from West End to West Bay.
CapeFearCruiser Posted November 17, 2009 Author #3 Share Posted November 17, 2009 Thank you! I am going to read up on Carambola Gardens or Gumbalimba Park and see what they have to offer. I do alot of walking on the ocean here in NC but I am guessing West End to West Bay will be a millions times better in Roatan:rolleyes: I am really curious to see what it will be like. Cheers, Tara
