Questions about PB

My husband and I will be celebrating our 25th anniversary on a carnival cruise on march 13th. we will be in cozumel on the 17th. after much research and looking at this wonderful web site, we have decided to visit PB on our day in port. We have 2 questions. Can you walk to the beach from the port? Is it safe to walk? We love to walk and can walk 3-4 miles with no trouble. But never having been to Cozumel we don't know if it is possible or safe. Any help would be appreciated. Looking forward to meeting this Tom I hear so much about.

We drove by PB on the way back to the port. It seems like it was at least a 15 to 20 minute drive, maybe more. I guess you could walk, but I am not sure that is so safe, sidewalks do not exist as you get further away from port. I would just grab a cab and enjoy more time at the beach.

Also, not there are three different ports that ships come in....it could end up being much further.
