For those who have upgraded at pier - luggage question

Recommended Posts

If you've already given your bags to the porters, with luggage tags for your current room, how do you get your bags if you upgrade to a different room? Do you go to your previous room and hope the bags are left in the hallway? Do you call the new occupants and let them know? Does your new room steward find them for you?

We would like to try to upgrade when we get to the pier but we don't want to end up without luggage for several days!

Thanks!

Your luggage will get to your cabin, don't worry! Let your cabin attendant know about your change. We have also gone to the deck that we originally booked and gotten our own bags. Good luck in getting your upgrade!

Tylara:

We've upgraded at the pier before (San Juan) ($400 from a JS to GS). The luggage (which was taken curbside) was supposed to be hunted down and redirected to our new cabin assignment.

After waiting beyond when we felt was appropriate to get the luggage transferred, we strolled down to our original cabin assignment and found our luggage sitting their. We just picked it up and took it to the new cabin.

I'm sure it would have ultimately ended up being delivered, but decided not to stress over it and took it upon ourselves to remedy.

Perhaps not the "right" thing to do, but it saved alot of aggravation.

Take advantage of the upgrade if you can get it and don't worry about the luggage.

Tylara - if you are lucky enough to get a pier upgarde, don't worry about getting your luggage days after.

We upgraded on the VOS and when there was no sign on one set of luggage, we simple walked to the original cabin and the remaining luggage was out by the door so we just brought it back to the new cabin.

Make sure to tell your cabin stewart that your luggage might be at the original cabin.

Enjoy your cruise.
