Golden Eagle Excursion on St Maarten?

We were booked onto this trip last year, but due to the weather conditions when we got there, the thought of going out on a catamaran was enough for us to cancel. However some others who were brave enough to venture out on this were a little ill whilst the weather was bad, but after the weather calmed down, it was enjoyable.

I suppose its one of those trips that really does depend on the weather conditions for that date, but then we never expected it to rain like it did when we were in St Maarten!!

Instead, we had a lazy day wondering around the town and caught a taxi out the airport (sad I know, but having seen those photos of the boeings landing right by the beach, it was a short trip that was certainly an experience!!)

Have a wonderful cruise!

Hullo, we have just come back from St Maarten and got the water bus across to Phillipsburg and walked round the town, had a drink and sat on the beach for a while. Sunbeds are available. It is a very nice little town to walk around. The water bus cost 6US dollars each return. Our dining table companions went on the Gold Eagle and thoroughly enjoyed it. We did have superb weather though.

Wish we'd had better weather that day in St Maarten, it would have been a lovely trip to do!! The water taxi was interesting in the choppy seas!! They had Christmas tunes on with a local twist which got the whole boat singing along, so the weather didnt dampen anyone spirits!!

Dont worry about going mad on excursions, it was our first time to the caribbean too, so we did an organised one every day, and did our own thing in the afternoon, after sailing across the atlantic for nearly a week, it was nice to be able to get on/off the boat for a change!

Hope you have a wonderful cruise!!
