fat lass Posted November 29, 2009 #1 Share Posted November 29, 2009 We are flying to Newark for the first time from England. We are spending three nights at the Marriott Eastside NYC, and then sailing from Cape Liberty. Can anyone advise with the best way to our destinations and back? Any advice would be much appreciated. Aoumd Posted November 29, 2009 #2 Share Posted November 29, 2009 Mariott Eastside appears to be about 7 blocks north from Grand Central Terminal in NYC (49th St/Lexington Avenue). To go there from EWR, I would take the Coach USA/Olympia Trails bus from Newark Airport to Grand Central, and then depending on the amount of luggage you have, walk or get a cab for the last 7 blocks. The bus information is on http://www.coachusa.com (click on "Airport Service" then "Newark Liberty Airport Express"). Your hotel is in a great location for sightseeing in NYC. As for going Midtown Manhattan to Cape Liberty, there have been many posts on CruiseCritic before about that. Check the CruiseCritic board for East Coast Homeport departures and you'll see. paul929207 Posted November 29, 2009 #3 Share Posted November 29, 2009 I would get a cab at Newark for the trip into the ciry. At the hotel, ask the concierge for the best way to the port.
138east Posted November 29, 2009 #4 Share Posted November 29, 2009 Please come to the East Coast Departures forum for lots of answers to your questions. Also, provide the dates you are traveling - NY advice is greatly affected by the day of the week and the time of day. You should probably arrange for a car service from your hotel to Bayonne. You need prices from Newark to your hotel in NY, from your hotel to Bayonne, and from Bayonne to Newark. Bayonne to Newark will be the easiest - there are lots of airport shuttles available at the dock.
