ENTERTAINMENT onboard is certainly not overshadowed by the food or the size. The shows are the best I’ve seen onboard, and what is pretty cool is that they are all in different “atmospheres”. While Oasis of Dreams is outside, warmer, with colorful waters and different special effects and awesome performers in the AquaTheatre that is pretty amazing,

Hairspray really feels like you are in a elegant Broadway theatre, which is the gigantic Opal, and is a full musical that I cannot forget….still got those songs…hahahah….

Frozen in Time is located at the modern Studio B with the colorful lights that together with the ice has a different feeling than the other shows. I recommend anyone to pre-reserve all shows and restaurants online so you don’t have to worry about reservations while onboard….and go to all the shows…they are worth it. I’d also visit Dazzles, located on Decks 8 and 9 where they have a band singing live in front of the dance floor that has lights on the floor and a huge glass wall with a nice view of the Boardwalk.

Viking Crown Lounge is my favorite in every RCI ship, we went there almost every day, and I recommend it especially when they have singers live as well with a nice view of the Pool areas and Central Park from Deck 17.

Very nice review and pix:)

The Vitality Spa is now located at a different location than on any other ship, in the fwd atrium on Deck 7 which makes it more quiet, and more space as well. It occupies 2 decks and relaxing areas. Mom and I did a couples massage since my dad is more into the Casino and it was really good.

Talking about Casino Royale, it is larger than a lot of Casinos in hotels that we’ve been. On Deck 4 across the aft atrium and the MDR, it is pretty well decorated with a nice statue in the main entrance, and a plus is that they have a smoking-free area! I could not stay there anyways but sometimes had to pass there and the smoking smell was not that bad.

The Sports Zone is located on Deck 15 aft, above Boardwalk, where the Sports Court, Mini Golf, the 2 Flowriders, and the famous Zip line are located. It is a really nice area and always crowded, which made us give up the opportunity to go on the Zip line…we’re planning to go back onboard in July so we decided to wait so we could have new experiences later next year. A cool thing was that a lot of older people went on the Zip line….actually I did not see younger people riding it….hahahah….

2475669330105937571dJaCSk_th.jpg

The Flowriders were pretty cool as always, but the lines were long…except for the day we were in Labadee….when we took an hour and spent there with a line of 7 people or so only. One of them is used to surfing and the other for body board, and since we are far from being pros we used the second. I am so anxious that I jumped, and fell. Second try…..jumped….saw I was ok….tried to turn….and fell….and so one….always falling…..hahahaha…..

my dad looked like a pro for 1 minute….until…..POFT!!!HAHAHAHA

Now let’s talk about LABADEE. It is a lot different than last time we were there in March with the Solstice. The pier is a nice touch especially for this ship, and we were glad it was done because we were told it was not, even on our confirmation paper it was stated “tendering” in Labadee….something that would be complicated. But it was done as everything else in the Peninsula.

2477558230105937571CNeqFO_th.jpg

They now have 3 restaurants, 2 information houses that I saw, concrete walkways throughtout the entire Peninsula, and more seating(actually more than we needed) and the Dragon’s Tail Roller Coaster that is pretty cool and worth the 15 bucks(its 25 if two people go on the same car and 40 for the entire day)….the view is pretty cool and the coaster is different(you have to stop according to the distance to the person in front of you….and then reaccelerate).

2657316240105937571OUiZuD_th.jpg

All that in addition to the features they already had…..they also added a “private” cabanas beach that as I understood are paied cause there are people checking who gets in there….nothing that seems that special thou….and a Crown &Anchor beach that according to what my dad was said you need to reserve(not pay) to be able to use….but I’m not sure. Resuming….Labadee is now even better(actually it was not one of my favorites….CocoCay was better and newer….but now Labadee is cool) and they had a lot of different stuff for the arrival of Oasis….like a local band with dancer at the main square and instead of ribs they had LOBSTERS!!!! Now I don’t know if they’ll have it always….hahahaha

OVERALL the Oasis turned to be a really awesome ship. As I already read around here she did not reach perfection because It is impossible….but she got close….

2332406230105937571sdVFYg_th.jpg

She might not be the prettiest ship from the outside and I agree there are ships with beautiful outdoor design….but her majesty is unquestionable, the interior designs are well done, and the opportunities and options you have onboard are the best available!

2866389930105937571mhpwuR_th.jpg

Not an usual cruise, you don’t see the ocean every 5 minutes as in other ship, but it is a great cruise experience and really a complete vacation for families who want a week of relaxation. So I’d like to say some people that Oasis is not as bad as they think…she’s actually an amazing experience out of the normal.

2102706830105937571vgVSqy_th.jpg

2974104160105937571usysZj_th.jpg

And since I got this idea for the title after I started I’d like to say it now….I cannot take the songs from Hairspray out of my head….and this one really representes this cruise not only for me but for my parents….simply because YOU CAN’T STOP THE BEAT OF OASIS OF THE SEAS!!!!

Hope you all enjoyed this review :D

Ricardo.

No, there definitely is no internet café. But during the pre inaugurals they had set up two inside cabins with computers (on deck 7 and 9 forward). To use the WiFi you´re supposed to log in via your TV and the wireless keyboard. You can also go online directly using the TV/keyboard in your stateroom. There are 3 computers plus one printer set up in the Seven Hearts Card Room. Another printer is available in the Concierge Lounge.

Are you able to use your own laptop in your cabin with WIFI.

Thank you

I prefer my netbook as I can work offline so I get more out of my money.

Ricardo, when the bookings were opened, we booked a B2B figuring that it would take that long to get around and enjoy the ship to its fullest.

Thanks for the great review Ricardo.

I'm booked in July so I'll be reading plenty of reviews before then.

Your comment about pre-reserving shows & restaurants on-line got my attention. I've not seen that option on cruises previously, so I'll be sure to watch out for that on the cruise personaliser.

Thanks!

Haha that was a good catch ;)

And yes for 14 days a netbook will do good....we were only 4 days so it was ok to not use it at all :p

Oh yeah make sure you do reserve everything before....don't waste your time onboard with that....plus it makes the planning more exciting :)

Great review! You are very well spoken for 15! I too was wondering about the comfort of the sofa bed. How was it?

It was not as comfortable as the actual bed, not the best sofa bed as well (believed it or not I still remember the best sofa bed I've had was on the Marriot Courtyard in Paris.....I could not stay awake on that bed!!!So good :p)...the one onboard Eurodam was a bit better.....but for me what was good was the size....on our Solstice cruise I had a sofa(that did not turn to an actual bed) and it was so short my feet stayed out of it....and I'm not tall at all....but Oasis was good....not outstanding thou....I forgot to take pics....sorry :o

Hey Liz I wanted to talk to you!

Yep it was really quick for us and we tried to try as much stuff onboard as we could....and I couldnt find u after Sailaway....haha well u know the size of Oasis....not easy to find people :p

It was also a pleasure meeting you and Alex(even for like 2 minutes).....but we did enjoy the cruise and completed our "mission" of trying and enjoying Oasis as much as we could in 4 days....gee we walked from one side to the other like 3 freaks :D

Well lets see about Allure....so many other trips and cruises to plan before that If I speak about Allure my dad will throw me through the window

I'm glad you liked the review!

Did you write one? Where is it?
