Customs ?

We will be visiting Half Moon Cay, St. Thomas, Tortola, and Nassau (in that order). At which ports do you have to clear customs before exiting the ship? And how long do you allow for this before scheduling your shore excursions?

Thanks!

You'll definitely have to clear customs in St. Thomas since it's a US territory. We were on the Maasdam and started off with HMC followed by St. Thomas, and we had to clear customs. It's a pretty quick process.

As of right now, passports are not necessary for most of the caribbean islands, but as always, passports are a good idea and makes traveling easier. You will need, at the very least, a certified copy of your birth certificate (the one with the raised seal) and a government issued picture i.d., such as your drivers license.

I would highly recommend a passport as you never know when this could change and passports would be required.

Hope this helps.
