Suggestions for cell phone service in Indian/Asian waters

Will be at sea for 3 consecutive days. Any phone or internet providers have decent service? Hear AT&T good. What about Skype? Will need internet and phone access (or just Blackberry / iphone) to US and would rather avoid SS usage prices if possible as last time cost me hundreds.
