Carnival Liberty - Just Off

Literally. I am sitting at FLL waiting for my 5pm flight.

Anyway, thought some may want to hear the latest. Keep i my the below are my OPINIONS based on MY experiences.

MY DW and two sons and myself did the New Years Eastern Caribbean. Ports of call were Nassau, San Juan, Grand Turk and St. Thomas. We did not prebook any excursions because the only thing we know we wanted to do was Atlantis Aquaventure and had no problem booking it on the ship.

As you can see in my signature, we have been on Carnival before along with Royal Caribbean. I can honestly say I was not inpressed at anytime on the Liberty. Service was mediocre everywhere, even to the point I suggested to some servers to smile once in a while. Food was institutional, even in Silver dining room. Best service was room steward, for that I am thankful. Silver Dining service was below average.

Entertainment was not impressive either, other than Asad Mecci hypnotism show, that was hilarious, (PG and R versions)

I am not hard to please, really, I just think the cruise lines have cut so much it is not the elegance it once was. It it starting to feel like air travel, just trying to get to the next port.

I love cruising, but will really think about it before another one.

i don't mind the cuts the cruise lines have made since I spend about half of what i used to spend on cruises 15 years ago. i will give up the chocolate on my pillow and other insignificant items to cruise for 50-75 bucks a day.

I was on the Liberty 3 weeks ago and had an amzing time. I, personally, don't care for elegance on a cruise, and would rather be comfortable and relaxed.

My food was amaxing......

sorry to hear you had a bad time. I am excited to go on her in 3 weeks today!!! I think I will have a great time. Anything that gets me out of work and away from MN with family and friends for 7 days is prefect for me

We are the T-shirt and jeans people you see at the Lido deck. Don't get dressed up in private life so why do it on a cruise. Had a couple of blips on our last cruise but got past it and had a good time. I've been told in my personal life that I need to smile more and the funny thing is that a complete jerk was the person that told me that. Lucky I didn't give him my true opnion of himself.

As said many times...............A bad day on a cruise ship is better than a great day at work.

We crusie for the get away time. Time for us to spend quality time together. All the others stuff on the cruise are a well added bonus anyway.

Sorry you did not have a wow time. Counting down the days till we get on the Liberty.

Anyone here have the capers for this Cruise. Sailing in 19 days and have yet to find copies. Plenty of promises, but no one has came through. If you have them, please email hollings.christian@sbcglobal.net... Thanks all

I can't wait for some warm weather, these single digits here at home suck, my toes can't seem to get warm.

We just sailed a B2B last Feb on the Liberty and we had a great time...we were on Lido port side anjd had the best room steward that we have ever had....She was outstanding...I noticed that you last two cruises were RCCL and we have checked into sailing on them again but their prices are just too high, I can do 3 Carnival cruises for the price of 2 on RCCL.....

Sailing on the Liberty next week-end. Was looking forward to it. That bad? Should we cancel?

No, do not cancel, and do not read anymore bad reviews either.

As they stated it was just their take on it.

You will have a grand time, if you want to.

No way. I was also on the New Years cruise on Liberty, and I had a fabulous time, easily one of my favorite cruises. We had an awesome server, he was always kidding around and joking with us. We had no problem with the service. Only problem I had was the casino took my money, but that's my own fault  I had a blast with Butch as the cruise director. Go, enjoy it, you'll love it.

We're doing "Liberty" again on Jan 30th, and I have absolutely no doubt whatsoever that I'm going to have a FANTASTIC time aboard. I'll report when I return!

We will be getting off her that same day! I will try to leave some fun on board for you!

My family and I were also on the Carnival Liberty (12/26 to 1/2). We had a great time and were very impressed with the food, service and the condition of the ship. We were traveling with my parents who had been on several other cruises, but had never sailed with Carnival. They loved it and said it was their favorite so far. We even booked another cruise next year, on the Valor this time.

I am so looking forward to my cruise in May aboard Liberty. No expectations - just relax and go with the flow and always have a good time.

If someone cuts in line at buffet, I think, Hmmmmm-they must be really hungry. I will get my food eventually. If they are nasty to a server, I will just give the server an extra smile-they are so overworked - have you really taken the time to observe them in their jobs.

The cruise lines can't please everyone, but they always have made my time aboard FABULOUS.

People need to chill out. Pull up a lounge and just vegetate. What fun it will be.:)

I never put ANY stock into someone else's reviews of food. I mean, we all like what we like. Aside from something coming cold opr moldy or something, you may find one meal too bland or overspiced, and I could find the same meals perfect! We have sailed Carnival twice (Fantasy in 1993, and Legend 2008), RCCL twice (Granduer (2001) and Explorer (2004)), and Princess once (1998). For us, we found RCCL's food to be far worse than Carnival or Princess. Many LOVE the food on RCCL, and on our Explorer cruise many were raving about what we found average.

I do love RCCL though for the on-ship discount I got, as their casinos have left me in the positive (Explorer WAYY in the positive), and Carnival and Princess have taken my cash. :)

Please do!!! There doesn't seem to be as much information about this ship as you can find on others.
