Jitney vs. Taxi?

After reading a great deal on the forums about the #10 Jitney (because you guys rock), 1.25/1.50 sounds far more appealing than $26-$30 for a taxi. However, I have a couple of questions.

 

1. Do you have to wait for a jitney? Like, is it a route where the arrive every so often, or is there a staging area with several buses so there is always one available?

 

3. Are the buses skeezy? I'm not the kind of girl who would really think of public transportation as an option at home. (If you've been to Atlanta, you know what I mean. :) )

 

2. Should I choose to take a taxi, are they even safe?
