For those considering a whale watching excursion out of Victoria this year you may be interesting in knowing that there has just been a birth of calf which is the third newborn in the past 12 months moving the total population of the 3 resident pods from 85 to 88. link

We will be stopping in Victoria(our last stop before returning to Seattle) That would be an added joy if we get to see Orcas on our approach.On our last Alaska cruise I got so excited when I saw black and white animals Calling My DH Honey look Baby Orcas Turns out they were Dahl Porpoises.May be I will get to see the real thing this time.
