Overlapping cruises?

We are sailing on the Victory that leaves this Sunday Jan 10 and returns Jan 17th out of San Juan. We noticed that there is a cruise listed for our same ship from a Wednesday to Wednesday (Jan 13 - Jan 20) from Barbados. This coincides with our port day in Barbados. My question is, for the Barbados cruisers is Jan 17th - the day we get off in San Juan and our cruise is over - just a port day for them in San Juan? If so, does that mean everything will stay open all day when things usually close on the last day?

Does that make sense?

No.......it will be just like the day you board the ship in San Juan.....the stores in port close early......around 5 or so if I remember correctly........

I never understood this....since sailaway is much later.......guess they don't need our money.....

Carnival markets the Barbados sailings to British holiday makers on their UK website http://www.carnivalcruise.co.uk

Passengers booking this itinerary will board in Barbados during your port call and disembark in Barbados during the next sailing. During the stop in San Juan only the usual dining services will be open while most passengers disembark. It will be a port day for those who boarded in Barbados but those passengers must pass through USA immigration before they may leave the ship.

On the day we disembark, do they say we need to be off by a certain time or how does it work since not everyone is disembarking? If i have a later flight can I stay on and have lunch and then get off?

Those not disembarking cann leave with transit passes, or as a regular port call. All disembarking passengers must be off early, usually by 10am. they have to turn over the cabins and have everyone off before they can start to board new passengers. If you don't leave in a timely manner, you will hear yourself paged endlessly. EM
