Can you bring any of your own food/drinks on the ship?

I have always brought stuff on and never have had anyone say anything to me. Our first cruise they kept one of my checked bags, so I had to go down to security. I was thinking great busted. They ask me if I had a knife, I replied I do not think so. Low and behold there was an old pocket knife from some other trip. I completely forgot about it. They saw the bottle of Jim beam and didn't say a word. I will even pick up a bottle or 2 in a port, put it in my back pack, and walk back on the ship. They never say anything and I never ask...:D

Those $3 Evian bottles in your stateroom will hold a fifth nicely. I would never use one to fool the re-entry x-ray scanner. It wouldn't be right to buy some cheap (really tasty!) local rum and fill one or 3 of them. I'm just saying.

Point of interest - the fruit punchy thing (mango-something?) available on most ships at breakfast makes a dandy rum punch. Or so I've been told. But stock up at breakfast! They don't have it at lunch. ;)
