smile1234 Posted January 9, 2010 #1 Share Posted January 9, 2010 Forgive me if this is not the proper place to ask? I am wondering if I need to get my 4yr old a password or if we are still ok with a birth certificate?
Sheffie Posted January 9, 2010 #2 Share Posted January 9, 2010 This is the perfect place to ask. 4 year olds are under the same rules as older people.

riverdees05 Posted January 9, 2010 #4 Share Posted January 9, 2010 Adult passport are good for 10 years, children passports are only good for 5 years. Passports are needed for folks cruising out of the country to get back into the USA.
carolinesmom Posted January 9, 2010 #5 Share Posted January 9, 2010 I just applied for passports for all 4 of my children. The youngest is 5. We are doing a closed loop caribbean cruise out of Miami, so technically it is not required. But my TA said they urged everyone to get them. If something happens and you have to get off the boat, there will be problems flying back to the US from a cabibbean island without one. In my opinion it is just too risky not to have them. They are good for 5 years and my guess is within that time period the law will change and they will require them of everyone, anyway.
Sheffie Posted January 9, 2010 #6 Share Posted January 9, 2010 Passports are needed for folks cruising out of the country to get back into the USA. Riverdees, this is not so. They are not NEEDED for a closed loop Caribbean cruise. That being said, the info given by the poster after your post is very important.
