Waterproof bag considerations

Will be trying snorkeling for the first time on our Eastern Caribbean cruise this spring. We're concerned about wallets, passports, etc., while we're in the water if lockers aren't available. Any recommendations for waterproof bags and is this the best solution?

Don't take your passport when you get off the ship. Or your wallet. Bring a ziploc sandwich bag for your room key and any cash or credit cards. All will still work fine even if they've gotten wet. If you don't have any pockets to put them in, you can usually find a little mini-box at a dive shop to attach around your wrist or neck.

The mini boxes are great, we have bought them at the ships store before.

If you have time to order online, Aloksak! I have tried many bags, boxes, etc. and these are the first I have found to be reliable. Also reasonably inexpensive. They are similar to heavy duty ziplock bags with double seals. Google aloksak.

I bought a waterproof box at Walmart in the camping section. I dive and keep this in my dry bag which I also bought there. I made a copy of my passport and put it in my box.

You must buy this little purse. I bought it years ago and it is still water tight. I swim with my cash and ID stuff right on my waist. It is worth the money!!!!

I use a dry pak (small dry proof wallet that can be worn around waist).
