Cat. L, M and N Difference?

Recommended Posts

Can anyone tell me what the difference is in these cabins. My parents are wanting to book a inside cabin. I have seen Cat L with 2-4 people and the M and N seem to be 2 or 3. The Rccl website says that they are all 160 sq feet, so besides a sleeper sofa, what is the difference?

If you check out the deck plans available on Travelocity, it will show the difference by location. I do beleive that is the only difference.

Having recently booked one L and one M for our first cruise in November on the Explorer I will say that the difference is NOT location. We debated booking one outside for our family of four versus two inside cabins and decided on two cabins so we would have more total space, two bathrooms, and privacy for roughly the same price. Anyway, our cabins are next to each other on deck nine. The L and M cabins are mixed together so location isn't the difference. Our travel agent couldn't tell us what the difference was, either, so she called RCCL and asked. The answer we got was that M rooms could only accomodate two passengers while the L rooms could accomodate three or four passengers. HTH

Thanks so much for the help Happy. I had looked over the deckplans and saw that L's and M's and N's could be right beside each other on the same floor, so that was what was confusing. I'm guessing that the Cat L's have a sleeper sofa for two extra people (Some hold 3 and some say they hold 4) and the others just have a 2 seater couch or maybe just a chair. Either way Mom and Dad want to book the cheapest room for now, so I'll book an N. When I call my TA I'll ask if she knows the difference. If I get a different answer, I'll post it.

Thanks again everyone!
