Surfer's Point

Has anyone been to Surfer's Point? We are looking for a nice beach with a place to rent boogie boards. What is the beach area like? Is there a place to purchase food/drinks/chairs. Any other suggestions of a beach that may meet these criteria. I have heard of Rockley, but I am looking for something with bigger and more consistent wave action. Thanks in advance.

East coast is the surf place but not for novices, so I am told. Crane beach is good for messing about at it, access via the hotel (see threads on Crane)

What about Silver Sands beach? Does anyone have any experience with this?

Most of the beaches on/round that side, South East/East, are lively.
