Jewel Questions

Recommended Posts

We are sailing on the Jewel on February 12 - I was wondering how the food on the Jewel is compared to other RCI ships?

What is the age range for kids to use the waterslide on the Jewel? I have an 11 y.o. who is excited about the slide.

Anyone know if there is a special Valentines Day Celebration?

Hi Cruisinfever-

We are on the same sailing as you. I can't answer the first two questions but I did email RCI with the question about Valentines Day. No word yet from them but will let you know if I hear anything. :) Happy Sailing!

Well food is always a tough question to asnwer as taste is very different. I thought the food quality was pretty much the same as on other RCCL ships. I had no complaints.

I don´t recall any specific age range posted on the slide at the childrens pool. I´m sure 11 yo will be fine for the water slide.

You don't specify what food source you're concerned with. Although we didn't care for the new menus in the dining room, the quality matched previous RCI experiences. We loved the Windjammer on Jewel, because there are multiple food stations, instead of everyone standing in one buffet line. I believe other ships are doing the same now. Be sure to check out the SeaView Cafe. We went there a few times instead of the Windjammer, and were very pleased with the quality of the food there. It was never busy. Sorry, I don't remember the age for the slide.

I don't remember seeing an age limit posted but the 11 and 12 year olds that were travelling with us enjoyed the slide whenever it was open.

All eight in our party enjoyed the food very much and were quite shocked as we were leaving the ship on the last day to hear someone ahead of us say the food was 'slop' and they would never sail RCCL again. As madforcruising said, everyone's tastes are different:) . We ate all but three meals in the dining room and we all enjoyed everything.
