Skagway car rental

We would like to drive to Carcross.

What rental companies are in Skagway and how do you get to them from the ship port?

we will be in town in mid July, will be need a 4 wheel drive, or will we be able to easily get around (drive to Carcross) in a regular car.

We already booked with Avis for June of this year. They are on 3rd and Spring within walking distance from pier. I recommend Murrays Guide for great information. Search here in CC it may still be available. We are not leaving the main road so am not sure about 4X4 :confused:

There's Avis, and independent rental company Sourdough. Any car you're comfortable with will do - it's a well-maintained 2-lane paved road all the way.
