Any info on LaGuaire (Port of Caracas), Venezuela?

Last night I booked the Golden Princess, 11/5/05, with this port of call. Is anyone familiar? Any idea regarding beaches or points of interest? Any private tour operators?

 

Any help is appreciated.

The port is about 45 min. outside of Caracas. We did a ship's tour there which was a full day and included lunch. The CD recommendation was to take a ship's tour or stay on the ship. It is not a port where you want to be wandering around. I felt safe on our tour, but some people who decided to go off on their own got mugged.

I'd keep checking on whether or not the ship will actually stop in La Guaira. Right now it is supposed to be stopping there, but is instead going to Isla Margarita.
