airlinegal Posted January 16, 2010 #1 Share Posted January 16, 2010 My original plan was to go to Sapphire Beach and do some snorkeling but I was just on Godfrey's website looking at tours and he says "Sapphire Beach is open, but the restaurant and bar on the beach have been closed for a long time. Restrooms are not maintained, dirty and in bad condition. Godfrey Tours will not take any guest to Sapphire Beach until this problem is solved". Anyone aware of the situation at Sapphire Beach? QTMichele Posted January 17, 2010 #2 Share Posted January 17, 2010 Just posted a review - you can view my sig to see some pictures or go to my thread on this board (St. Thomas) for more info. :) http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1122781
airlinegal Posted January 17, 2010 Author #3 Share Posted January 17, 2010 It seems you experienced the reasons why Godfrey won't take visitors there. I'm sure he doesn't want the tourists to think all the island is like that.I guess I go back to the drawing board. St.Thomas has many beautiful beaches, I hear, so I'm sure it won't be too difficult to find an alternative. Thanks again!
QTMichele Posted January 17, 2010 #4 Share Posted January 17, 2010 You're welcome! I just want to add, in case I didn't make it clear, the experience wasn't "bad," it just wasn't great. I'm sure there are beaches that are more special and desirable.
cheffip Posted January 20, 2010 #5 Share Posted January 20, 2010 Any other recent experience with Sapphire? I'm trying to decide between Sapphire or Secret Harbor. I want to snorkel, rent fins, and have a drink and snack, all in a nice beach setting.
