some sad news

I hate to tell you...La Choza restaraunt just burned down. I was out early this morning and happened to be passing by just as the fire got started. I'm guessing the breakfast staff had a problem. The fire department got the fire out in about 45 minutes. Luckily, it looked like everyone got out ok. Hopefully they will be able to rebuild quickly.

Awe DARN!! La Choza was a GREAT place for lunch. (LOVE that frozen avacado pie) Have been there several times, and will miss it.

Solita, Please keep us updated on the progress of rebuilding.

And thanks for letting us know of this tragedy.

See you in 41 more days:-)

I posted an update a couple of weeks ago on their progress. Yes, it was mainly just the palapa roof but the kitchen received some extensive damage too. Luckily they worked quickly and re-opened part aboout 3 days later and fully re-opened about a week after the fire. All is back to normal...love the new palm smell.
