Hatboxes?

Hello shopping experts!

 

I have some hat boxes but they really aren't for travelling...they hold no more than one or two hats and have these awkward hand-crippling rope closure/handles...

 

Anyway, does anyone know if "they" make good luggage for travelling with hats? I don't want to be restricted to one crushable hat this time...I keep buying hats, I might as well wear them!

I've seen them at times in luggage catalogs, most of them are pretty expensive (think $1000-2000 range).

although I don't think I would check it, I'd hand carry it. But the strap on the top is a nice feature.

Love those vintage pieces on ebay :) I cracked up at the first one, the description was "brown leather or vinyl, not sure". Big difference.
