griswalds Posted January 20, 2010 #1 Share Posted January 20, 2010 Internet on the ship was very slow and expensive. At one of our stops - Huatalco we went into town and the price was $1 dollar for 1 hour vs the ship rate of 50 cents per minute with a package and the Mexican internet speed was very fast. It took us approx 1 hour on the ship to check in online and print our boarding passes. Disembarcation was planned for 9:30 am. Most people complied however when the magic hour arrived and passed, the ship was still looking for "lost" passengers. The ship was finally cleared from immigration at approx 10 am, however we still had to wait for the port authorities to release us (so we were told). We finally were off the ship around 10:15 with a rush to the San Diego airport which is very close and a nice tip to the taxi driver. I have never understood while all the passengers are held hostage while waiting for people to show up later? The ship's staff seemed to be doing all they could to make the process go quickly as many of them wanted off the ship as well. Overall a relaxing cruise but no "wow" factor.
