autumncat Posted January 20, 2010 #1 Share Posted January 20, 2010 We booked a cruise on Splendour of the Seas and the only dining option left was at 9:00. That's a bit late for us. What are our chances of being able to change it to early or my time dining?
cb at sea Posted January 20, 2010 #2 Share Posted January 20, 2010 Excellent...call whoever you booked with, and ask to be put on a "waitlist" for your other choice. If that doesn't happen prior to the sailing, go to the dining room on boarding day, and see what they can do for you. Generally, if not on the 1st night, they'll get you what you want by night 2. bikn4fn Posted January 20, 2010 #3 Share Posted January 20, 2010 I agree. We booked a cruise a few years ago at the last minute. All that was available was late seating. The first we did upon boarding was go to the dining room. We got switched to first seating with no problems.
SASSYIN2 Posted January 21, 2010 #4 Share Posted January 21, 2010 If I sign up for my time dining ahead of time, since I can only get late seating right now on the VOS May 23rd ( on wait list for 7 pm), and the first night I find out I can switch, will they let you even if I have prepaid gratuities? Rare silentbob007 Posted January 21, 2010 #5 Share Posted January 21, 2010 They might let you out of MTD with gratuities prepaid, but my guess is they'll just ask you to mimick standard dining each night by making a set reservation if that is what you want. OP ... you may be able to switch, but it depends on how full early dining is and how many people are trying to get into it. They will try their best, but an early MTD reservation may be a good backup plan if you don't mind prepaying gratuities.
