pepsicruiser Posted January 23, 2010 #1 Share Posted January 23, 2010 I am going to be in south Fla this weekend. I am sure we won't be able to get close to port to see Oasis but thought there may be someplace to park car and get to see Oasis leave FLL. Anyone know where and also about what time it departs? bajathree Posted January 23, 2010 #2 Share Posted January 23, 2010 Just hang on the beach and you will have a great view of it pulling out....wouldn't be able to miss it from anywhere on the strip.....BUT of course the closer to the inlet on the beach the better the view you will have. rcipilot Posted January 23, 2010 #3 Share Posted January 23, 2010 Hello: On 12-26-2010 My wife and I walked to the Inlet from the Harbour Beach Marriott. Its about a mile down on the beach side. There maybe access closer to the Inlet to park. Well worth the walk to see the Oasis and other cruise ships heading out which had about 100 people at the same spot. Several ships blew there horns on the way out. Enjoy!
pepsicruiser Posted January 24, 2010 Author #4 Share Posted January 24, 2010 Thanks, we found the John U Lloyd State Park and parked close to the jetty going out of the inlet. It was great watching the Oasis and other ships leave. It sure is different to see from this perspective rather than on it lol.
jevans.900 Posted February 13, 2010 #5 Share Posted February 13, 2010 Would I be able to walk down the beach to the inlet from the South Beach Park parking lot, or is the beach completely private? If I am able to do that, is there a closer spot I could drop my grandma off before parking & walking down there? Or is it easier just to park and watch the Oasis leave from the John Lloyd Park? The only thing that concerns me about the park, is on their website it states they close at sundown, which could be a problem if they are late to depart. I flew down here to drive my grandma, who was vacationing down here, back to Ohio, so this is my only shot to see that Oasis, any help would be greatly appreciated!
