Transport Long Beach to LA and good hotel for Hollywood area

Hi

 

Will be coming off Carnival Splendor September 26th and will need transport to hotel in Hollywood area, any suggestions as to who to use?

 

Also would appreciate any advice for a good hotel for a couple of days (not outrageously priced) in Hollywood area, that's in a good area with easy access to public transport and walking distance to attractions in the area?
