Sally Forth Posted January 23, 2010 #1 Share Posted January 23, 2010 For those of you who live in Vancouver, what cruise ship is out in English Bay right now? It looks fairly small (too small to be one of the NCL floating hotels?) and we are wondering if someone has chartered it just for the Games. DH and I can't quite see it from our perspective on Spanish Banks because a freighter is blocking it, so went for a walk around Kits, but couldn't zoom in close enough to see an insignia or ship name. Urban trekker Posted January 23, 2010 #3 Share Posted January 23, 2010 I believe it is called the Mona Lisa and it will indeed be based in Squamish and will house volunteers who will be bused to the Whistler venues on a daily basis. I was told about this as part of my volunteer training for the Games and just how the transportation will work along the Sea to Sky Corridor. The HAL Statendam is berthed at Ballantyne and is used for housing RCMP and Security people. The NCL Star is the only one I believe that is being use for profit and they have slashed their prices considerably since it was first announced.
