Can you walk from Pier 66 to Seattle Aquarium?

I was wondering if it is possible to drop off your bags at Pier 66 prior to boarding, and walk to the aquarium for a couple hours, then got back and board the ship? Is it too far to walk... are there sidewalks... etc. Keeping in mind we will be traveling with young kids (4 and 3) who I know would LOVE the aquarium, but aren't the easiest to "herd" on long walks!

thanks!

The walk is managable. Also, across the street is a trolley that is fun to ride. Go to Ivar's, eat outside, and feed the seagulls. That will be a highlight of the trip. Very fun!

Sorry, but the trolley no longer runs. There is a bus that takes the same route.
