OBC question

So I just recieved OBC thanks to the early saver program and I was wondering...what all can I use it on? can I use it on the soda card program or shore excursions?

Ours showed as cash on our docs. Was able to use on anything & even got a check under our door for the remaining balance the morning we returned.

I had the same question and decided to email Carnival "guest relations" for an answer. I received a response just today. The answer: "If you received OBC from an Early Saver "Price Protection" guarantee, you may use the credit for anything during the cruise(i.e.-gratuities, soda cards, bar bill, casino, etc.). However, if there is a balance on your OBC account at the end of the cruise, it will be forfeited. There is no cash refund issued."

I have quite a large OBC coming to me. I will try my hardest to use every gosh darn last red cent of it.

You will get your OBC Back if you put in your own money above and beyond what they put in good idea if you don't want them putting a hold on you Debit card. I prepayed to my OBC before my cruise a and had no bill at the end even got a little check back was nice to know I had no credit card bill.

Technically, the OBC from Early Saver is non-refundable so you might want to assure that the Purser's office is charging to the ES OBC first. Applies to any of your S&S charges, including the Gratuities that are charged to your S&S account. ken

yes, technically it is a non-refundable OBC, which means that if you have anything left over in the account, it's gone. You could go to the casino slot machines the night before you debark and transfer that money into your casino account on your sail n sign card and then cash it out of your account at the casino desk if worse came to worse...

I was thinking of doing this. Do you know what the service charge is to transfer money to your casino account from your Sail 'n' Sign account?

I can't imagine that blowing through that credit will be all that hard to accomplish. If in doubt, order a few coconut monkey head drinks... If nothing else, THEY will push you over your credit line.:D

We put part of our OBC from the ES in a casino account and cashed out the night before each port, then we had spending money while we were in port. We also spent a good deal of the money on board (we had quite a bit of OBC between 4 of us). I know the OBC is supposed to be non-refundable but several have said that they got a check under their door and in June 09, the check under our door was $213- $200 cash we put down and $13 that we never cashed out or spent. I wouldn't bank on it, but it seems that sometimes it's refunded, perhaps on accident??

As long as you do it through the slot machines, there is no charge. You must cash out your casino account the final night of the cruise from what I understand...although I've never had any money left in there!!
