KPAGE Posted January 28, 2010 #1 Share Posted January 28, 2010 Hi....we'll have 5 kids that will want to build a sand castle or two, but don't want to pack sand toys. Will they have some for sale there, and for how much $? thanks!
cb at sea Posted January 28, 2010 #2 Share Posted January 28, 2010 It would be better to bring what you need....just the time wasted trying to find the toys in ports would be a hassle. Pack the buckets in the suitcase, with socks, pj's....whatever stuffed inside...it really won't take up any extra space. Plus---kids are great at "finding" things to play with...a stick or shell digs really well! Or, bring a couple of the plastic cups off the ship...you don't have to have "real toys" to keep kids occupied!

Kerry's Girls Posted January 28, 2010 #4 Share Posted January 28, 2010 There have been many posts about this, and the answer is always that for the time and expense spent trying to purchase in port, it's much better to bring some from the dollar store that you can then just leave behind (it's nice not to worry about bringing sandy toys back to the ship - harder to do if you've just spent $15-$20 on the toys). We also bring a couple blow up beach balls. I have seen that ships on sunny routes often carry beach toys in the gift shops on board - but again, for the expense and uncertainty, much better to just bring some along. You can fit a few buckets together and then stuff clothing inside them. Best, Mia
