scubagirrl Posted January 31, 2010 #2 Share Posted January 31, 2010 Anyone know how busy Atlantis will be mid-March? What about weather that time of year? Any help would be great. :) It's the middle of spring break for colleges. The height of the season. So everywhere will be busy. Weather is pretty good. It's high season. luvdsny Posted January 31, 2010 Author #3 Share Posted January 31, 2010 scubagirl - Have you been during March? We are taking a family cruise with NCL. We had hoped to take a taxi to Atlantis and purchase tickets for the Dig on our own. After reading the boards, scared they will stop selling tickets and the we will be out an activity. I've read there is a free area of the Dig, have you seen it? Is weather 70ish? Any help would be great, thanks for responding. :)

I realize that it's probably your kids break, so thats why you chose those dates, but it's also every other family in the US spring break also. Weather is 70's now. Hope it will be back up to mid 80's soon.

highbridge5 Posted February 1, 2010 #6 Share Posted February 1, 2010 I was there a week ago and I can tell you that it was warm enough to do the water park. If you are worried about it being too cold in March, don't worry about that. There were many, many parts of the aquarium that you can view from the top by just walking around the grounds of Atlantis. If you want to go into the underground parts and look through glass windows, that part is the part that will involve getting a pass. highbridge5

highbridge5 Posted February 1, 2010 #8 Share Posted February 1, 2010 So you can look around some parts of Atlantis for free? without buying a pass? I know that they are not going to charge you to walk into the shops or into the casino and that I did not see anyone preventing anyone from walking out of the casino into the main lobby and out of the main lobby onto the grounds outside. There are signs at various points on the sidewalks that say "Access Pass or room key is required beyond this point". I'd have to say that everything that we saw at Atlantis, aside from the underwater parts of the dig was open to anyone. No one asked to see our wristbands or anything except when we got to the entrance of the dig where there was a person who looked like security who glanced at us. Whether she was checking for our wristbands or not, I don't know. She did not stop us as we walked past to verify anything. Call the resort - they have an 800 number that is manned until 8PM or so most every day. hb5
scubagirrl Posted February 1, 2010 #9 Share Posted February 1, 2010 So you can look around some parts of Atlantis for free? without buying a pass? You can enjoy the casino, lobbies, shopping arcade and marina village without a pass. There is also a small portion of the aquarium at the Great Hall of water that you can view. Beyond that.. you will need a pass. There are security people stationed at all exits to the main property, at the beaches, pools and the aquapark. There's even security to the entrance to the DIGS aquarium and the view tunnels. There are several passes. The DIGS aquarium for $35 pp. The BEACH (included DIGS) for $60 pp (does not include pools or slides) Full Access Aquapark pass ($110pp) includes beaches, pools, slides and DIGS, but not the dolphins, rock climbing, snorkeling, or other fee based venue. luvdsny Posted February 1, 2010 Author #10 Share Posted February 1, 2010 Thanks for the information Scubagirl! It is our spring break. We did Disney last year and the crowds were horrible, I was hoping with a cruise that crowds wouldn't be as bad. Didn't think about the resorts where we port. I saw you listed prices at Atlantis, I assume those are adult prices? Do they discount children under 10? Thanks for all your help. ;)
