Ipod Touch - Wifi connectivity?

Recommended Posts

Can anybody help me, has anybody managed to connect your Ipod to the Ships Wifi if you buy internet minutes, just as you do with a laptop.

We're hoping this will save us taking our laptop as we can use our Skype app on our Ipod touch to phone home.

The Ipod connects to the home network exactly the same way as a laptop so theoretically it should connect on the ship but want to make certain it does or I will take laptop as well so we can Skype. Hope somebody can help.

Thanks :D

Thanks for the information, I did wonder if the bandwidth would cause problems. It stinks but makes sense that they might disable Skype on the ships. :(

We are on 12 day EoS around Caribbean so hopefully might find some Wifi spots on land to Skype from. Will try to find out if there are any in St Maarten, St Thomas, Barbados, San Juan, Antigua, Dominica.

Yes....I have used my I-Phone with WiFi on the ship....you first must use one of the ships computers to set up an account then you will be able to connect with your I-Phone/I-Touch.

We found a great place in St. Martin on the boardwalk that had free WiFi. I can't remember the name of it, but if you're on the pier where the water taxi comes in, it's the first bar on the right. It's got a big front porch. It's kind of slow, but we sat there and enjoyed a few drinks while we checked e-mail. Hopefully that can work for you! Have a wonderful trip.
