Try the room service brownies on Poesia!

Hi. We were just on the Jan 23-30 sailing of the Poesia (our first time cruising). We had an excellent time. We were in a balcony room and spent a lot of time sitting on it. We did a couple of activities and shows (the shows are amazing...comparable to Cirque's Ka and Mystere in terms of talent, and the boat was super rocky one night I can't imagine how they could even stand up straight on stage let alone perform). I loved the MJ tribute it was very heartfelt, and made me cry since I am a huge fan and had tickets to go to the actual concert in February.

The buffets were all very good, and very healthy...I really enjoyed fresh fruits and vegetables since at home I am too lazy to prepare that! There weren't a ton of people in our age category (we are 2 girls in our late 20s), but it seems like they did make an effort to seat us with 3 couples who were in their 20s -30s for the evening dinner which was nice. But the old people we met were all nice too ;) The casino was good and had low limit tables unlike the ones I am used to at Rama or Niagara (try the 5 cent Cleopatra 20 line machine, it seems to be loose!). We did 3 excursions (Panoramic Tour/Shopping in St Maarten, Virgin Gorda in Tortola, and Atlantis in Nassau) which were all okay except for a 1 hour delay for the bus in Tortola, which was a bit annoying but not really MSC's fault, there was some issue with the bus license plates preventing them from entering the dock.

The staff were all very friendly on the ship. The TV in the room had limited channels, and not super clear/sharp but we did start following a few tween girl shows on boomerang lol. And I thought the self service menu on the TV was pretty cool...we could order excursions, room service drinks, bingo tix. Just keep in mind you cannot use cocktail package tickets for room service. But for anyone planning on sailing on the Poesia I highly reccomend the brownies from room service (though on the last night they didn't have the chocolate fudge on top). I hope to cruise again soon, and have no reservations in reccomending MSC.

Glad to hear that you enjoyed your cruise!! I really hope that the MJ tribute is an on going show. I am really looking forward to seeing it. I am a little older than you... mid 30's.... but I have always been a big fan of MJ too!! Thanks for the positive comments, I makes me less worried about traveling MSC!!

Richard tried out his MJ tribute the first time on our Nov 30- Dec 10 cruise and had such an audience at the last minute they moved it to the main theater instead of the Zebra lounge. As a matter of fact one of my table mates left dinner at 9 pm without her main entree to get a good seat in the Zebra Lounge. The show was going on at 10:30. When I got there she was holding seats for us and then we were told to move into the large theater. They had lots of technical problems and Richard told us the next day how upset he was that it just did not work out the way he planned. He still was wonderful. He did a preview of his show on a night before so we did see how talented he was even though our show was riddled with mishaps. The sound person was not prepared to do it on the main theater and neither was the lighting people. Richard is a wonderful person as well as multi talented. His positive spirit is heartfelt and contagious. I am so glad the show is wonderful ...he did that show all on his own and asked MSC to let him show it. It was from his heart.

So glad you all found MSC to be as rewarding a cruise vacation as we did.

We are going again on Poesia for 11 nights in Nov.... would love to cruise with some MSC fans....let me know if you are thinking of it.....

I was glad to read that there is an Atlantis excursion in Nassau. My granddaughter was hoping for that. Thanks for the review. We sailed on Orchestra last year and had a wonderful vacation. We are really looking forward to our journey on Poesia beginning March 27th.:)
