hey bee,

We stayed at the Farifield Inn in Texas City on the Saturday before the cruise. I had a free night there. Not the closest (probably about 15-20 miles) but it was very nice and clean and the staff was very helpful towards a couple of out of town Yankees!

We did not do any of the tours. My wife is about 4 mos pregnant and she did not like the idea of having to ride very far in a tour bus w/o a guarantee of a clean potty.

I think we did like progresso best though. The shopping area was nice, and then we walked around the town a little.

The weather was fine. About 80 degrees at the ports. Belize was a little warmer.

I was actually surprised at how many older (65+) people there were on board. This was our first Carnival cruise and we expected the mad partying college students. Very few little kids on the ship. I would probably say less than 30.

I will try my best to post scans of the capers. Need to find somewhere to host the images.
