workroombee Posted January 18, 2005 #2 Share Posted January 18, 2005 bernman, I'm looking forward to your review! We're sailing on the Elation on Feb 13th. A couple of quick questions: did you stay Saturday night in Galveston, and if so, where? Did you visit the Mayan ruins in Progreso? Thanks! bernman Posted January 18, 2005 Author #3 Share Posted January 18, 2005 hey bee, We stayed at the Farifield Inn in Texas City on the Saturday before the cruise. I had a free night there. Not the closest (probably about 15-20 miles) but it was very nice and clean and the staff was very helpful towards a couple of out of town Yankees! We did not do any of the tours. My wife is about 4 mos pregnant and she did not like the idea of having to ride very far in a tour bus w/o a guarantee of a clean potty. I think we did like progresso best though. The shopping area was nice, and then we walked around the town a little.
marylouvold Posted January 19, 2005 #4 Share Posted January 19, 2005 I would be very interested in the capers. We will be going on the Elation on April 10 and my sisters family will be going on the Elation on March 20th so I would also transfer them to her. wvold@gobalfinishing.com Thank you!!:) :) :)

bernman Posted January 19, 2005 Author #7 Share Posted January 19, 2005 The weather was fine. About 80 degrees at the ports. Belize was a little warmer. I was actually surprised at how many older (65+) people there were on board. This was our first Carnival cruise and we expected the mad partying college students. Very few little kids on the ship. I would probably say less than 30. I will try my best to post scans of the capers. Need to find somewhere to host the images.
