nanlyn Posted February 10, 2010 #1 Share Posted February 10, 2010 We will be in St. Kitts in Feb. 2011. We are planning to do a tour with Royston-highlights of the island. I remember reading about both of these inns and are thinking of having lunch at one of these during our tour. I would appreciate input from anyone who has eaten at either of these places. Are they expensive? Worth the money? Any other recommendations? Would it be too time consuming? We are there from 11 to 7.
paul58 Posted February 10, 2010 #2 Share Posted February 10, 2010 I would take the time to have lunch at one of the plantation inns. Our favorite is Ottleys. There is even a small rainforest hike on the grounds. You have selected an excellent guide for your tour!
nanlyn Posted February 10, 2010 Author #3 Share Posted February 10, 2010 Thanks so much for the input! Is it ok to be casually dressed? How about approximate cost so we know what to expect? :)
paul58 Posted February 10, 2010 #4 Share Posted February 10, 2010 You can dress casually. The price would vary depending on the menu. The Royal Palm is a very nice restaurant. The prices are worth the experience. visit ottleys dot com
5nights Posted July 15, 2010 #5 Share Posted July 15, 2010 I have eaten at both. They are beautiful places. In my experience, the food at Ottley's was outstanding. It has been several years and I still think about it. I'm going back in December and can't wait to eat there again. I can't really remember the food at Rawlins, only that it wasn't my favorite, but of course that is very subjective.
Rare oskidunker Posted July 23, 2010 #6 Share Posted July 23, 2010 I am thinking of doing a cab to the Batik, otleys and the fortrice. How close to the Doc are they?
fancytraveler Posted July 25, 2010 #7 Share Posted July 25, 2010 I've eaten at quite a few places on St Kitts and I loved Rawlins Plantation. The history of the location is fascinating and the staff are very willing to provide an impromptu tour of the Plantation. I think it's the only plantation that can show the sugar cane production progression over the years. Great food and history...not for everyone I guess but I really enjoyed it.
