I don't think the tip is automatic... you have to sign the receipt and there is a space added to add a tip.. but it can be put onto your sail and sign card, you don't need cash or anything...

Significant discounts are given on port days for combo packages. Of course, you'd have to skip port activities -- which, I'd guess, is why they slash the prices.
