What to do with beloning at beach?

I was wondering what everyone does with there "stuff" while at the beach when you are solo. I have soloed before but never just had a beach day. I am doing the Carnival Victory this month and plan on having a few lazy beach days. I thought about getting one of those water tight neck thingies for money and stuff but what about towels, shirt and book or ipod?

I guess I could just leave all that on the beach and keep an eye on it but I'm not fast enough to run out of the water to catch somebody who takes off with my stuff and I may want to snorkel so I won't always be able to watch.

I am a trusting soul and it may just well bite me in the butt sometime, but I take my "stuff" in my backpack and either ask someone nearby, preferably a couple, to help keep an eye on it or take my chances. I also wear a nylon belly pack and put my very important things, i.e. cruise card, money, in a ziplock in the backpack and off I go.

I have a tote bag with very long handles. I loop the bag through the handle around the leg or arm of my chair. Works well at all times becasue i sling it from over my head to the other side. Don't need hands to hold it. I also have one of those waterproof thingys whcih are quite useful even when not on the beach. The Victory was my first solo. Loved it! Don't miss the great sushi near the casino bar, different kinds each night.
