Early or Late Boarding?

Hi - we're joining the Med cruise in May with Princess. Since we're arriving in Venice late in the evening, i've book ourselves in a hotel.

The next day, I can't decide whether to board the ship first then go on the tour, or board the ship after the tour. The ship still leaves the next day so i'm not worried of boarding late.

Are there any advantage of boarding first or later? .

We have sailed on princess out of Venice and will be sailing on Cunard out of Venice this October. My advice would be to take your tour and then go to the ship. It will not be as busy.

Princess does have a shuttle from the dock to Piazza San Marco once you have checked in. They leave the tickets in your cabin. You can leave again once you have checked in. We also left the morning we were sailing out of Venice. We went for an early morning walk through the market. Venice is wonderful at any time of the day. Enjoy the sailaway - it is our favorite one:D
