Georgetown Recommendation

We are going there in Dec ( I know, I plan early :)) and we are looking for a quiet family friendly beach ( have 2 boys, 6 & 8) where the boys can play in the water and we can laze around - preferably where we can rent chairs and there is food nearby. Can someone recommend specific beaches we can look into?

Thanks,

D

7 Mile Beach is what I always recommend however, If you are looking for somewhere a little less busy, Rum Point is also a good place to head to.

At Rum Point you can do all of those things except rent chairs... chairs are free, on a first come, first served basis.

The water at Rum Point is particularly kid-friendly. It stays quite shallow for a couple hundred feet off shore, almost to the end of the dock.

Seven Mile Beach is accessible by taxi ($4-6 per person each way) or public bus ($2.50 per person each way). The two sections that likely have what you're looking for are Sea Grape and Royal Palms.

Rum Point is also very nice, but as it's a 45 minute drive from the port area, you'll need to either take an excursion that stops there (via the ship or privately booked) or you'll need to rent a car. It's about an $80 taxi ride each way, and there aren't any taxis in the area so you'd have to prearrange the return trip.

Just do a search in this forum for any of those beach names and you'll get literally hundreds of threads with info, pics, reviews, etc.
