pizzalady1 Posted February 14, 2010 #2 Share Posted February 14, 2010 We are planning to rent a car in Maui for sure and maybe in Kuaui as well (the 2 overnight ports). Does anyone know the parking situations in these ports? Maui has free limited parking at the pier--the spaces all fill up by 6pm. There is also free parking along the seawall which does not fill up until much later. In Kauai, there was parking at the Aloha Market Place for $10 which is just around the corner from the pier--you need to get a parking pass as soon as you get your car because parking is limited and they only sell enough passes for parking spaces. There was an earlier thread where someone mentioned that the Aloha Market Place was closed, but no one has verified that one way or the other. That thread also mentioned parking for $20 at a nearby shopping center with a free shuttle. When we were in Kauai, cars were getting towed right and left from that nearby shopping center, but they were not charging a fee at that time and people were parking for free. zoeymo Posted February 15, 2010 #3 Share Posted February 15, 2010 Hi. Can anyone comment on safety of walking from ship to parking lot on Maui? We were planning to drive to Haleakala for sunrise which means we will be walking to our car in the very early morning (possibly as early as 3:30 a.m.) We will be attending Old Lahaina Luau the night before so it will be later (9:30 p.m. or so) when we get the rental parked for the night so I am sure the close parking will be filled up. Thanks for your comments. . .
cruzn single Posted February 15, 2010 #4 Share Posted February 15, 2010 If you are using the parking in Kahului, it is right at the pier!
